Business InformationHistory/background
The founder and president of Tiedemann Globe, Inc., Anthony (Tony) Tiedemann, 41, has achieved remarkable success focusing on a niche (exporting used clothing abroad), while also diversifying his interests in several areas, including renewable energy through his Clean Energy Foundation (CEF).
In the early 1990's, Tiedemann, at the time a recent graduate of Creighton University, began his career in the textile industry in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
He wanted to be an entrepreneur since age 17. In his first job Tiedemann was responsible for 26 cutters in the wiping rag division, supervised the sales department and five ancillary staffers. After only 19 months Tiedemann's employers challenged him with additional responsibility. He transferred to Brownsville, Texas, and, in only seven months, he and a partner achieved a two-year goal to earn $70,000 a month in net profit for the company.
