If a postcard (or other item) is graded as VG,- I expect the postcard to be very good! More than once, I got burned really bad by this. For example, a dealer described a large & very expensive postcard lot as VG. Well, the cards were far from being very good. Trash was more like it & that's where most of them went! Live & learn! So, I would rather just give my personal opinion in plain ordinary language. I mean, who can really remember all these conditions for a card being NM, VG, G, etc? Especially for a buyer who isn't familiar with these terms! I prefer to call it as I see it! Even with giving my opinion--I try to err on the side of caution because opinions are just that-opinions. What I may think is very good, someone else may think, that's it just fair, or otherwise-- and vice versa. So, with these grading terms and what they imply, I'd rather just skip the grading condition and give an opinion in plain language. In other words, an opinion which implies what it really means!
