I'm a female Interstate Truckie, part-time farmer/horse breeder. My Husband & son are also Interstate Truckies & we all head off in different directions! I get more time off than they do as I generally look after the farm, cattle & horses.

WHAT MAKES ME MAD
I get annoyed that the general run of Aussies don't see Truck Drivers as anything more than sleazy,worthless,drugged out idiots who are a scurge on Australian roads. Think about WHERE your groceries come from?? HOW do fresh vegies & fruit get from the growers in Queensland to your supermarket in Melbourne? TRUCKS, that's how..driven by good,hardworking Family Men & Women just trying to earn a dollar & get home safe to their families. We are just Normal people, doing a really tough job. A typical trip loading with say Stonefruit/Apples/Pears in Victoria & heading for the Brisbane Markets - we CANNOT be late for Market, otherwise the fruit/vegies would miss being sold on that day. After unloading we get a well earned sleep for 4-5 hours before loading up again with Corn or Beans or Melons or pumpkins/spuds etc and heading back again to the Melbourne Markets.We avoid cars,caravans etc & LOVE what we do. WITHOUT TRUCKS AUSTRALIA STOPS! Everything you own has been transported by Truckies!
