Thought provoking, beautiful film about personal relationships.
This is an interesting and engaging film about the unexpected relationship that develops between a young man and a late teenage boy. The former, a confident and outgoing University research assistant, working with the boy's Professor father over summer. The teenager, who has become so accustomed to his fairly non eventful life at home with his parents, and hanging out with his school friends, is perplexed with the brash newcomer into their lives. At first resentful, then later becoming
attracted to the young man, probably because of his carefree attitude and strong personality.
Eventually the situation becomes complex, as despite their reluctance, both feel a homosexual attraction to each other, which blossoms into a passionate relationship.
However with the end of summer, and departure of the assistant, lives return to their former situation, and the boy is heartbroken.
There is a real surprise towards the end, when he and his father have a heart to heart talk, and the final scene leaves the viewer wondering what will the future hold for the young fellow.
The film is set in the beautiful countryside of Northern Italy.

A charming, but somewhat slow, story of young love and complications between families.
The younger boy's ( Pim ) mother is a friendly but self centred person, who spreads her favours around men of the village. It's not much of a life at home, so he frequently spends days at neighbours who are lovely and welcoming. Their kindly mother treats him as one of the family.
Relationships become complicated, but the young boy, Pim falls in love with the older boy, although
the latter's sister falls for Pim. Pim's mother eventually deserts him and goes off with the lodger.
The situation goes from bad to worse, with the other boy taking up with a girl, his sister becomes obsessive with Pim, and their mother is dying of cancer !
The two lads are finally reunited, as they realise their feelings for each other are stronger than everything else life has thrown at them.
Set amidst a dull and somewhat bleak environment in Belgium, with English subtitles, it's worth watching once. Although the DVD warns of occasional strong sex scenes, there are none.

Best Organ Fireworks so far.
I have several of the " Organ Fireworks " series and find them excellent.
However in my opinion, this is the best one. Fabulous organ and superb playing.
The clarity of the instrument and recording quality is first rate. Highly recommended.
