All About MeWhat everyone should know about me
I've been playing music my entire life, and the guitar since i was about 15. I've played in heaps of bands (you probably haven't heard of any of them) and have owned more than 30 guitars at some point or another. Guitars are a real passion of mine.

Business InformationHistory/background
I taught guitar during and after my university studies, for about 6 years. I moved to Finance, which was good for a while, but no surprises as to what happened. Guitars are a genuine passion of mine, and to pass the time and make a bit of money, i decided to begin 'rescuing' guitars. One of the things I learned during my teraching days was that having a decent instrument is an important thing. I also knew that a decent instrument didn't necessarily need to mean an expensive one, because there are alos a lot of students who play for a few years but decide to pursue other things, and so a cheaper way to find that out is something that the funder of the exercise (generally the parents) is looking for. A better instrument can always be purchased down the track if needed. So that is the essential ethos behind Guitars by Shadz, to take inexpensive guitars and practise amps, and set them up, make them playable and sound good, and then get them in the hands of someone who will play it...
Payment policy
Generally, i prefer to have guitars picked up. They can be posted, but it's not the ideal. postage is generally easy to arrange though, and in these cases bank deposit or paypal are fine
Postage information
the easiest way to post is to remove the strings and neck. the guitar will then fit into a large Tough Bag (after the parts, including the screws to reattach the neck and instructions on how to do that are all well wrapped). I posted a guitar to Darwin like this and it cost about $30. However, this is not the ideal way to post them, as removing the neck undoes some of the set up (someone will need to string the guitar for instance) so they can be sent in gig or hard cases. The price may be different, and unless specified, the cost of the case will be added to the final cost of the auction.
Return policy
I make sure all the guitars are set up and working before i photograph and list them. All amps, pedals etc are tested. There shouldn't really be a need for them to be returned, but if there are any issues, contact me and we can work something out. Ideally, the guitars should be returned to someone (preferably myself) and be set up again. things move, strings need to change, etc. Guitars are a lot like cars, and work a lot better when they are maintained.
