All About MeWhat everyone should know about me
Thanks for the kind feedback, folks! We're really pleased that its going smoothly.
Oh well, we've lost our 100% positive feedback score. Just one negative so far - and that was from someone who we refunded because we couldn't find the item.
Things I sell
InterestsHello again,
Keep visiting our listings to find uncommon and interesting books, records,CDs,sheet music, art, bronzes and... um... collectible objects of assorted origin randomly selected from the spare room. For the time being, the majority will be books, but look out for a lot more LP records soon.
We are pretty thorough about describing the condition of items so that there's no unpleasant surprises. But with items we are selling off cheap we don't always go to quite so much trouble.
Business InformationHistory/background
Did you know that when you send a question about an item,we have only one chance to reply. That is why it can take us a while to come back with the answers: we have to find and study the item first... Fancy, crazy and tiresome requests are sometimes ignored
Payment policy
We're not in front of the computer all day, and want a minimum of fuss, so we've chosen to go (almost) solely with paypal as payment method. It bothers some, but for us it is tidier and quicker.
Postage information
Postage/handling costs are the great Ebay preoccupation, and lots of people have strong ideas about what is a fair price to charge.
With items we sell we usually add around $2 to $3 to what we think the actual postage price will be,but with books which weigh more than 500 grams, our domestic postage rate ($8) is below cost price. People from Canada and the US are regularly expressing their horror at postage costs. It seems that postage from Oz to America is probably dearer than postage from America to Oz. Postage to Europe is even dearer, but the Europeans don't seem as surprised. Check Australia Post's website.
Contact information
Once we see payment has been made, the item is usually packed and posted pronto. No lollygagging about.
The types of books we have
We have nice old 1st edition hardbacks, how-to books and technical information, sheet music, pop culture stuff, art books, religion, politics, philosophy, poetry, arts, picture books, booklets, reports, and quite a lot of Australian fiction and non-fiction. We mostly avoid bestsellers and stick with selling uncommon books, or ones that we consider strange, interesting, useful, beautiful, etc.
Hello again,
If you find one you want, we think you should just bid on it there and then rather than holding off till the last minute..and then forgetting. Anyway, thanks and bye-bye again.
