Worth strong consideration
It is early days but the only difference to the factory alternator was that when first fitted the voltage at idle was initially 14.2v, even with high beam and spotlights on. So I thought I might have to check the batteries more often due to the higher voltage.
However, after several trips I noticed the battery voltage was dropping to 13.8v. This suggests to me the regulation is working well and that the alternator has plenty of current capacity.
It is too early to tell if it will last 200k km's. But I'd buy another one.

Battery life did not meet expectations
Capacity is nowhere near that claimed and in real use appears to be half of what was achieved when the laptop was new.
