A bit dull and flat.
I bought this for my grandson, because he loves bugs and insects and he is a unique little character himself, so the moral of the story appealed to me. However I was disappointed in the quality of the pictures.. to me they seemed dull, even though the bugs themselves were cute. I liked the quality of the book itself, but my first reaction on opening it was to be let down by the illustrations. A little bit depressing actually. To be honest, I found the story a little depressing too. Instead of celebrating their unique characteristics, it ended more on a note of resignation. Sorry, but that's just how I felt about it. If my grandson could talk yet, he might tell me otherwise, but I can't see it becoming a favourite really.
