It is very important to me that I am honest & accurate about everything I sell. I aim to always do right by my buyers & I believe this is reflected in my feedback. Postage fees are the biggest problem HARD to guess right but I do try - SEE BELOW.

It is very important to me to be honest & accurate about everything I sell. And this has been a real learning process. In a shop people judge things with their own eyes & I have learned that not only is it easy to miss small details, but also others opinions differ as to the quality of an item. I aim to always do right by my buyers, I have made a few mistakes (small details missed) but I believe my buyers have been happy with the result as we have worked it out, usually before an item is even sent. It is a sad fact that you cannot always please everyone, another type of problem too can be when people do not read a description thoroughly & then are not happy with their purchase becouse they missed some details (something I have also done as a buyer myself). Overall though if you do read my feedback you can see that I do right by my buyers & the feedback is good.

I am a licenced second-hand dealer and had a very large second hand shop literally the size of a supermarket, but decided to close the doors. I have almost anything you can think of, though most of it is packed into a shed that is literally wall to wall & floor to ceiling boxes & furniture. I am slowly getting through it all & listing what I can as I go. I do have some lovely vintage & antique furniture, if you are interested contact me & if I have something you want I can list it for you.

I do give an approximate postage cost on every listing, for more precise quotes I need a postcode as it does vary quite a lot depending on where an item is going. I take great care in packaging as reflected in my feedback, this does cost a bit more beacuse it adds to the size & weight of the package, but your item WILL arrive in one piece. I mostly custom make the boxes I send my items in, this is a time consuming process for which I do not charge, but each box PROPERLY fits & protects it's contents, while not being any larger than necessary so that it costs the minmium possible to send. And please remember, the true cost of postage is MORE than just the value shown on the stamps. We all as buyers look for the cheapest postage option, P&H fees is another one we don't like but there really are extra costs that do add up for the seller. As both a buyer & a seller my experience is that those offering cheap postage are usually losing money -I have paid $5 post & seen the stamp say $12

I would like to say PLEASE before you are put off by the 1 negative feedback I have - READ MY FEEDBACK PROFILE - & look at the feedback left for others, it was not deserved & was the price I paid for having the courage to be honest about another seller. I was polite & patient but the seller was not communicative or sorry, my glass plate arrived severley scratched (not in EXCELLENT CONDITION as described), unpadded & poking out of it's thin cardboard postpack in 2 places. Miraculously it was not broken, but that was only luck. When I told the seller her reply was blunt & in denial, no apology. She did offer a refund, but it was not worth paying the postage again still = lost $. I wrote a long message offering her advice as a new seller, saying I didn't want to make it a big deal but she should know her mistakes. If she'd replied saying something like thanks for the tips, I won't make that mistake again or simmilar the feedback I left would've been positive. A very sad result indeed.

I really do try to get it right, as you can see by the star ratings on my profile the postage one has the lowest score (still 4 1/2 out of 5 though) BUT sadly it does not reflect all the times I UNDERQUOTED & lost money on the postage - which I have also done plenty of. I use the online Aust Post calculator, but sadly it is not always accurate, & the exact weight & dimensions of the package are needed, but there is no value in packing something before it is sold so I have to guess. Then I often have to choose between 2 different potential weight categories, sometimes with up to a $10 or $20 difference (depending on size, weight & postcode) & although I try & get it right it is harder than most people probably think. We all as buyers look for the cheapest postage option & view high costs harshly, but it is a FACT that postage is not cheap. P&H is another one that buyers do not like but there are many extra costs involved that do add up for the seller so it really is justified.
